IQL MATERIAL REFERENCE: 188 

DESCRIPTION

  • 188 is a high quality EPDM rubber specifically compounded for use as a plant lining Material for contact with portable water.

APPLICATION
(FOR SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS CONTACT IQL LIMITED).

  • 188 material is resistant to many common chemicals but is not suitable for long term contact with acids. The material is approved by the Water research Council for contact with portable water. Cold applications only approval No.9209514 (Vita). The approval was granted in October 1992.

TEMPERATURE
(FOR SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS CONTACT IQL LIMITED).

  • Depending upon application: -20 to 130 deg C. The material is also resistant to hot water or steam up to 150 deg C.

VULCANISATION TIME

  • 1.5 hours at 50-psi steam (148 deg C).
    NOTE SAFETY AND HANDLING RECOMMENDATIONS.

SPECIFIC GRAVITY

  • 1.22.

COLOUR

  • Black.

HARDNESS

  • 48 to 58' shore “A”.

STORAGE

  • The material should be stored out of direct sunlight in a cool and dry location. Each roll should be supported through the centre tube. For details of storage for rubber-lined equipment refer to IQL Limited.

SHELF LIFE

  • If stored below 20 deg C: 1 month minimum
