IQL MATERIAL REFERENCE: 184 

DESCRIPTION

  • 184 is a high quality silica and silicate filler free butyl rubber specifically compounded for use as a plant lining Material.

APPLICATION
(FOR SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS CONTACT IQL LIMITED).

  • 184 material is resistant to alkalis, non-oxidising acids and many chemicals at elevated temperatures. 184 has a relatively high carbon black content and because of this the vulcanised material can only be successfully electrically tested with difficulty.

TEMPERATURE
(FOR SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS CONTACT IQL LIMITED).

  • Depending upon application: -20 to 110 deg C.

VULCANISATION TIME

  • 1.5 hours at 50-psi steam (148 deg C).
    Site vulcanisation can be achieved by vulcanising for 16 hours at 100 deg C and must be carried out by filling with water and boiling.

SPECIFIC GRAVITY

  • 1.18.

COLOUR

  • Black.

HARDNESS

  • 50 to 60' shore “A”.

STORAGE

  • The material should be stored out of direct sunlight in a cool and dry location. Each roll should be supported through the centre tube. For details of storage for rubber-lined equipment refer to IQL Limited.

SHELF LIFE

  • If stored below 20 deg C: 1 month minimum
