IQL MATERIAL REFERENCE: 138 

DESCRIPTION

  • 138 is a site vulcanised ebonite rubber suitable for hot water vulcanisation or where steam temperatures are available above 90 deg C.

APPLICATION
(FOR SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS CONTACT IQL LIMITED).

  • 138 is used for a variety of applications where the size or the location of the plant prohibits vulcanisation in an autoclave. The material being resistant to many acids and common chemicals, but provides less resistance than items vulcanised in an autoclave.

TEMPERATURE
(FOR SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS CONTACT IQL LIMITED).

  • Depending upon application: 0 to 70 deg C. The material in common with all ebonite rubber suffers a decrease in flexibility with any decrease in temperature.

VULCANISATION TIME

  • 48 hours at 90 deg C.------ 24 hours at 100 deg C.

SPECIFIC GRAVITY

  • 1.63.

COLOUR

  • Brown.

HARDNESS

  • 75 to 85' shore “D”.

STORAGE

  • The material should be stored out of direct sunlight in a cool and dry location. Each roll should be supported through the centre tube. For details of storage for rubber-lined equipment refer to IQL Limited.

SHELF LIFE

  • If stored below 20 deg C: 2-4 weeks
