CALENDERED COMPOUNDS

TECHNICAL DATA SHEET.

IQL MATERIAL REFERENCE: 137

DESCRIPTION

  • 137 is a very high quality ebonite rubber specifically compounded for demanding plant lining applications. The material is the most chemically resistant ebonite available in the IQL range of materials. As with 131 the material is rigid particularly at low temperatures.

APPLICATION
(FOR SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS CONTACT IQL LIMITED).

  • 137 is used for a variety of applications, being resistant to many acids and common chemicals. 137 provides the maximum chemical resistance in the IQL range of ebonite rubbers.

TEMPERATURE
(FOR SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS CONTACT IQL LIMITED).

  • Depending upon application: 20 to 70 deg C. The material can withstand higher temperatures than 70 deg C but will result in a reduced working life.

VULCANISATION TIME

  • 2.5 hours at 50-psi steam (148 deg C).
    NOTE SAFETY AND HANDLING RECOMMENDATIONS.

SPECIFIC GRAVITY

  • 1.16.

COLOUR

  • Brown.

HARDNESS

  • 75 to 85' shore “D”.

STORAGE

  • The material should be stored out of direct sunlight in a cool and dry location. Each roll should be supported through the centre tube. For details of storage for rubber-lined equipment refer to IQL Limited.

SHELF LIFE

  • If stored below 20 deg C: 1 month minimum
