IQL MATERIAL REFERENCE: 132 

DESCRIPTION

  • 132 is a high quality rigid ebonite rubber specifically compounded for use as a plant lining Material for contact with portable water and foodstuffs.

APPLICATION
(FOR SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS CONTACT IQL LIMITED).

  • 132 is used for a variety of applications, being resistant to many acids and common chemicals. The material is approved by the Water Research Council for contact with portable water. Approval No.9302515 (Vita) was gained in March 1993. 132 also complies with BGA recommendation 21 categories 1-4 and FDA regulations section 177.2600 for rubbers in the long term contact with foodstuffs.

TEMPERATURE
(FOR SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS CONTACT IQL LIMITED).

  • Depending upon application: 0 to 90 deg C. The material in common with all ebonite rubber suffers a decrease in flexibility with any decrease in temperature.

VULCANISATION TIME

  • 2.5 hours at 50-psi steam (148 deg C).
    NOTE SAFETY AND HANDLING RECOMMENDATIONS.

SPECIFIC GRAVITY

  • 1.50.

COLOUR

  • white.

HARDNESS

  • 70 to 80' shore “D”.

STORAGE

  • The material should be stored out of direct sunlight in a cool and dry location. Each roll should be supported through the centre tube. For details of storage for rubber-lined equipment refer to IQL Limited.

SHELF LIFE

  • If stored below 20 deg C: 1 month minimum
